It appears, from a little quick Googling, that there is a new and
poorly-documented option one can use, "lfs", that enables Samba to
transfer files that are over 2GB in size (apparently, lfs means "large
file support"). Try this instead, and see if you get better results:

mount -t smbfs -o
username=myuser,password=mypass,lfs //server/share ./netdisk

I don't have any sufficiently large files handy to test this out with,
but at least mount doesn't complain about this option when I use it
within an fstab entry, FWIW. Let us know how you make out, would you?
