vmware have released vmware 5 for beta testing ( its free) , so if there are stillYes, I mentioned this yesterday in my note. I also said I was having problems configuring linux guests with VMware 5.0 RC1 (which came out Friday).
problems with MDK 10.1 they can be fixed before release.
Keys for both linux and win versions are e-mailed to you after download.

All's well today! For those mucking about with the beta...a virtual machine running Mdk 10.1 full cooker hung after a 'vmware-config-tools' install. Turned out to be the sound driver vmware uses under alsa (snd-ens1371) was hanging the system, I switched to the es1371 driver (OSS?) and all is OK. (Not sure if I have sound working but it boots.).
I was able to get an Archlinux 0.7 machine going after building an xorg.conf file with xorgconf, which didn't work, and editing to conform with the working Mdk virtual xorg.conf file.
It wasn't pretty as Archlinux uses a completely different configuration file architecture than Mandrake. They also don't have any gui configuration tools. (But I like the distro..still testing.)
Anyway, I'm liking VMware 5...it's very fast with a Windows guest and it can be made to work with the two linux guests I've tried (which is about where I was with 4.5.2). It has a new interface, a 'quick switch' tool that works well and some new features.
