| Because im not an "insider" and everything i know about the mnb kernel
| is from this thread.
|
| AFAIK from the cooker mirrors, there is complete exchange of mdv kernels
| with the mnb ones in main repository. And every other kernels (the
| ones supported by contributors) are without any Manbo-Labs support, right?

Yes, but "support" here means "who's working on that kernel?".

The Manbo-Labs kernel has got two additional persons two work on
it (Shinji and Makoto), they are Turbo Linux guys.

But the contributors' kernels stays the same: tmb and kernel-linus
are maintained by Thomas and -mm kernel by Trem.

| The tmb kernel was kind of "testing" kernel for main mandriva kernel
| till 2008.0, is it still (at least partially) true, or tmb kernel is now
| just another kernel offered with more patches than the main one?

I think it's still true, but Thomas can answer you better I think.

| Can someone please tell me if there are any interesting (or
| non-interesting :-)) changes in the new mnb kernel?

Well, we have merged Turbo Linux patches. Maybe the more
interesting changes are the tomoyo security framework and the
unicon driver (which allows one to have Chinese, Korean and
Japanese characters in text mode).

There're other fixes and features, but you'll have to check
the changelog or wait for the release notes to know about
them.

| Any plans for the Manbo-Labs kernel development beside stable and up to
| date one (im not saying its not enough ;-))?

Right now we're in freeze phase, so we should stay stable
for a while.
