Thanks a lot Lev.

BTW, is there a clear process to warn of an obsolete package?
I rememberseeing this topic some times ago but can't find an answer to it.

IMHO, there are 3 ways:
1) bugzilla
2) mail on cooker
3) mail to the packages author (or most recent package according to changelog)

Which one is preferable?

Lev, you're one of the most reactive for all of thiese categories, but that's
not the case for every body, and I'd like to conform as best as I can to
Mandriva rules.

So far, I see the pro and cons of the above methodes:
- with bugzilla reports, there are many newer versions request that becomes
obsolete.
- with mail on coocker, it can be seen as pollution (though, it permits to a
contributor that is not the original package maintaine to take the action
- with mail to author, sometimes, there is no answer (either because he left
the project or because his mail is no-longer the one written in changelog or
because he percieve this request as a work order instead of a awareness
report): example, I reported the fact that current octave-forge package is
obsolete and incompatible with the current octave package and I indicated the
way to generate the new octave-forge sub packages, but I had no answers)
