Same thing for me, using an ATAPI DVD-ROM.

So this is not something SCSI-specific. Reassuring to me, but a bad thing
in broader perspective. :-/

One thing I found strange was that gnome-volume-manager wasn't running.
But starting it manually made no difference.

In my case, gnome-volume-manager is running.

Do you know how or where g-v-m is supposed to be started automatically?
I've gone through the gnome-volume-properties and the drakconf dvd/cd
mountpoint configurator tools, as well as drakxservices, but I'm not
seeing it.

We are at least three with the same problem.

Then maybe we should file a bug :-) What module would be most appropriate?

The problem is that we are using gpw gnome 2.12 packages. We cannot fill bugs in Mandriva cooker because those packages are not supported by mandriva.

We have to wait cooker to include them before filling bug reports.

Daniel
