- Date: 30 Apr 2005 09:07:00 -0000
User ID: 9530, 8 bugs reported (3 fixed, 1 duplicate, 0 invalid), 493 comments. http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=9509 ------- Additional Comments From martin.fiala@mandrake.cz 2005-04-30 11:05 ------- Is this bug still valid in LE2005? -- Configure bugmail: http://qa.mandriva.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: kernel@mandriva.com status: UNCONFIRMED distribution: cooker creation_date: description: Durring installation, just before diskdrake would ordinarily start, installation stops with the message "Oops, no root partition". This happens on beta 1 and beta 2. It happens because 9.2 saw SATA drives as scsi devices, but 10.0 sees them as ide. Changing fstab entries from sdaX to hdaX etc. on the target system before the update allows it to proceed. (In my case, the perl script scans fstab looking for /dev/hda5, but since root is /dev/sda5 it doesn't find it.)
