No.
Those are for use during the installing (well, they should; last time
it didn't worked); and for KDE.

For Gnome it does a good job (well, pango+fontconfig actually) of having
a correct display; so we don't need to to care about it, which makes
our lives *muche* easier (having to care about KDE font config is
very annoying; but needed, as otherwise you can end up with "blank
squares" if the used font lacks the glyphs for your language; I hope
someday it will be fixed and we could ignore it as well)

"Sans 10" is the compiled in default font of libgtk.

I don't know how to properly set another default font for gtk without
user intervention (yes, I could create a gtkrc file, but that is not
a good idea, as then the user cannot change the font trough the
gnome-font applet).

Maybe we should fix libgtk/gnome so that the size of the font depends on
the language ("Sans" is a good default in all cases imho);
appart from Chinese, thai (maybe also lao and khmer?) and arabic
would be nicer with bigger sizes.
