Much to my surprise, mdk 9.2rc1 for amd64 proved to be quite stable on
my k8t800 a64 (even for normal usage, not to mention that I purchased my
a64 box only for testing/evaluating linux amd64 as a development
platform) Yet, I have to select suse or mdk for purchase. That's a tough
question...

AMD64,mentioning 2.4 is depreciated for AMD64

I have had so many stability problems with Mandrake AMD64 9.2 that I
have removed it from the system and am now using Fedora 0.93 x86_64
release. Am extremely disappointed with Mandrake. RC1 was better than
there release. Am currently bug reporting on Fedora-development trying
to get the 2.0 x86_64 to install but it is still wacked out. Hope
somebody lets me know when when Mandrake wakes up and smells the coffee.
They need help and there is work to do, but you can't help if they don't
try.
