If that's the case, they may not have amd64 drivers, yet. Even if they do, it could be a continuing hassle, and I for one wouldn't risk my data behind binary-only drivers. That said, it's possible, especially for standard IDE use, that reverse engineered libre drivers are available. This is going on what I've read.
