Not really a profession but an obsession with me... i have been playing with computers ever since i bought an Apple I back in what 1979 i believe. I have a rather simple raid in my new system dual 80 Gig SATA drives running off the embedded Promise R.A.I.D controller. plus a 250 Gig ATA drive ... I still remember paying over a grand for a 9 Gig SCSI drive :-P Have to get back to getting this box up and running. more later David -----Original Message----- From: Duncan <1i5t5.duncan@cox.net> Sent: Jan 25, 2004 11:16 AM To: cooker-amd64@linux-mandrake.com Subject: [cooker-amd64] Re: Re: SATA problem david stephens posted <1075001377.1816.9.camel@localhost>, excerpted below, on Sat, 24 Jan 2004 22:29:37 -0500: > Ah welcome to the world of SATA RAID battling this issue this weekend on > an an ASUS SK8V board. also purchased from Monarch Computers (a few > miles from home) yesterday. One of these years, I'll probably get into RAID myself, now that disk capacity is up to the point where I can begin to afford multiple drives of the same size.
