- Date: 22 Dec 2003 23:25:20 -0000
Hi all, Has anyone experienced the following? If I start a remote Xterm session (i.e. by setting the DISPLAY variable), then it crashes out if the users shell is tcsh, it works fine if the shell is bash. For example - [root@cerberus jes]# xterm -display 192.168.1.4:0 works fine (because roots shell is /bin/bash jes@cerberus[11:24pm]~> xterm -l -display 192.168.1.4:0 crashes out (because the user jes has shell /bin/tcsh) the following error is recorded in /var/log/messages - Dec 22 23:18:21 cerberus kernel: tcsh[6203]: segfault at 0000000035594d08 rip 000000000040c9ca rsp 0000007fbfffd5c0 error 4 Local logins work fine (i.e. jes can login locally fine), it's just starting a remote xterm that fails. Help? John.
