Sure, I understand. I noticed that a few weeks ago, but since I wanted the
kernel to be frozen, this glitch was not release critical since it does
not render the system unusable with default setup ("nv" works, otherwise
"fbdev" as a fallback).

Well, my personal opinion, is to ship full featured products which work
best by default for most users. So proprietary software or not, I include
what I can and do believe makes users experience the product better.

But your alternate reason can hold too. It depends on people views. ;-)
