What's the best way to indicate that I'm supporting the distrib as

The Mandrake Linux 9.2 for AMD64 product will be sold on MandrakeStore at
around 100 USD.

Thanks. I was wondering about the price..

I don't know either and I too would like to know. Besides MandrakeClub
subscriptions or telling people you are happy with it ("evangelism"?) and
do care of the work done for MDK/amd64, at least for this version?

Thanks for your interest in MDK for AMD64.

And thank YOU (personally, and Mdk corporate, and the "you" that includes all the contributors and cookerites like me, all three).

.. It's a bit frustrating right now, but at least part of that is because
the amd64 version isn't out yet and packages are somewhat limited -- not
all have been ported and some aren't easily compiled from src.rpm yet. I'm looking forward to having full cooker/contribs/plf urpmi support
without having to worry about stuff being missing that I know is available
in i586, and all that.

Hi Duncan,

I've got slbd (http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/twiki/bin/view/Main/SlBd) on an amd64 and it's compiling cooker / contrib / plf. It's (the process is fully automated) uploading the contrib and plf packages, Gwenole is taking care of cooker. Since amd64 is a bit different from i586 (aren't all ports?) some stuff won't compile & work out of the box right away. I hope that by making the packages that *do* compile out of the box available, the software will get more exposure and more bugs will be fixed. For the sake of making things clear: the packages this process uploads have not had any form of amd64 specific QA, they are provided "as-is". Use at your own risk...

For the buildoutputs, see:

http://eijk.homelinux.org/build/amd64/

The contrib uploads are available throught the regular Mandrake mirrors that carry amd64, same applies to plf --> plf mirrors that carry amd64 packages.

regards,

Stefan

PS: I can also make *unofficial* cooker main packages that this amd64 host has built available, if there is enough interest.
