If one chooses the expert install boot option using F2/F3  at the
beginning of the install, the first question I think the Mandrake
installer asks, even b4 it switches out of text mode, is whether there are
any third party drivers that need to be loaded.  I've never used that
option, but it is there.

The other possibility of course is to procure if necessary another disk to
do the original install on, after which RAID could be set up later, either
in an initial boot from non-raid then load raid configuration, or by
installing the appropriate raid after initial setup to boot from it.
