Duncan,

Is there an easy way, aside from editing the Spec file, to have all of the patched integrated into a directory tree that can be moved to /usr/src/lin... so configuration changes can be applied?

Thanks
don

but I can't seem to find the kernel source to allow me to patch it. Is
it named something other than "linux-<version>-tar.gz" on the CD ROMs? Or is there an FTP site? Or URL?

It's an RPM PACKAGE, not a tarball. Install using urpmi as you would any
other RPM package. Use urpmq --fuzzy kernel to see all the available
kernel and kernel source packages, then install the desired one using
urpmi.
